This Book is for listing regionally relevant businesses. For the time being listings are free, but you are welcome to contribute whatever you feel is fair to help defray website costs. Until we get a contribution form set up you can mail contributions to Middle Earth Metaworks, PO Box 934, Crestone, CO 81131. Sorry, not tax deductible.

Although this is a locally oriented community service website, outside businesses with value to offer within the local region are welcome to list here as well.

The local region is defined as the San Luis Valley plus Poncha Springs and Salida.

Content

This directory is for enduring listings, maintained online by the lister, of businesses as described above. Read the Help pages to see how to create a Book and its subordinate pages, and use this format to create your business description/contact page(s) and any subordinate pages describing individual products/services and promotions, all under the Business Directory outline. Unless things get out of hand, no page limit is planned.

Or you can just create a single page listing with a short teaser and link to your website if you have one.

Be prepared to maintain your own pages, and set appropriate expiration dates for promotions. Stale pages don't help draw traffic and waste website resources.

Please do not list your business or promotions in the Free Exchange Book, which is for short term listings by individuals seeking to trade individual items. There would be no advantage since the search feature can search both books at the same time. Such entries will likely be stricken when discovered and continued abuse or obvious spam may result in your business being banned from the website.

Other Services for Businesses

Although the Free Exchange is off-limits, business oriented Blogs are permitted (and free), and can be linked to/from corresponding Business Directory pages. You never know what goodies may come from sharing your experiences with the community. There are no content limitations as long as you avoid being abusive.

As other directories develop, e.g., Spiritual Organizations, there can be cases where an organization should be listed in more than one. Here is where you will likely want to create one main entry and link to and from it on other pages rather than duplicating content and having to maintain multiple versions.
