This is a different kind of exchange service.
Come here for trading: items you don’t need or services you have to offer, in exchange for items or services other people have to offer. Money need not be involved—just people-to-people making it work here in a place where people-to-people is the most important connection.
Log in and let the community know what you have and/or what you need. For example: ride sharing; building materials in good condition; clothing or crafts you’ve made; a good, used appliance you need, etc.
You name it—and then see if someone in the Crestone area has what you need or needs what you have.
Policy
The free exchange is to help regional individuals with something to trade to find each other, not for businesses. If you want to pay someone to work in your home garden this is the place to post, but if you want to post help wanted ads for your business, please visit the Crestone Eagle or other standard venue for such classified ads. You'll get better results, and abusers of this policy may be banned from the website.
For the internet deprived
Jodi and Gussie have created a physical version of the Turnip Patch Free Exchange at Shambala in Crestone, in the form of an index card system by which you can let others know what you seek and have to exchange. Check it out! Post in both places for maximum coverage.
And let us know how this website, and the card box at Shambala, works for you and how either one could work better.
Happy trading!

How to post an item
Add a 30d Page (Click Create content in left sidebar) to post an item describing what you seek and what you have to offer. You can even upload up to 3 pictures! Just click the picture icon with the plus sign at the bottom of the child page input form.
Be sure to click Book outline in Edit mode, or Outline in View mode, and choose Free Exchange as both the Book and the Parent menu to place your item in the Free Exchange menu. Hoping to automate this step before long.
If you choose the 30 Page container as recommended you won't have to worry about coming back to delete the post when it gets stale Your post will expire in 30 days, but you will be emailed a notice 5 days in advance and can extend it. However, it would be a courtesy to remove posts that have been fulfilled or cancelled so you don't waste other people's time. You can always edit or delete any of your own posts.
